Engineered wood floors are built up in layers with a real wood top, so they cope with the changing humidity of a lived-in home and suit rooms with underfloor heating. Hazelwood supplies and fits engineered oak and other species in planks, herringbone and parquet — measured, acclimatised and laid to sit flat and quiet for years.
Solid wood is a single piece of timber through and through — a floor that ages beautifully and can be sanded and refinished again and again over its lifetime. It's the classic choice for period rooms and anyone who wants a floor to outlast the house's next few makeovers.

Old boards hidden under carpet, scuffed parquet, a sports or studio floor covered in line markings — sanding removes years of wear and reveals the wood underneath. The work is dust-controlled, and reviewers note there was hardly any dust and the room was left spotless.
The finish decides how a floor looks and how it wears. Hazelwood finishes in hardwearing oil for a natural, matt feel or lacquer for a tougher sheen, in the tone you've chosen — sampled on your own boards before the whole floor is committed.
A wood floor is only as good as what's underneath it. Uneven subfloors are levelled with self-levelling screed and prepared so the finished floor sits flat and stays quiet — the unseen step that stops boards lifting or squeaking later.
